Job Summary
- We are seeking an experienced OCI Lead Engineer to manage day-to-day operational activities of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) environments across Development, UAT, and Production.
- This role works closely with application developers, Oracle Database teams, and OCI Architects to ensure stable, secure, and efficient cloud operations.
- The candidate will be responsible for routine administration, incident management, change execution, and operational support of OCI-hosted workloads.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day OCI operational activities across Dev, UAT, and Production environments.
- Execute routine administration tasks for OCI compute, storage, networking, and security services.
- Work closely with application developers to support deployments, releases, and application issues.
- Coordinate with Oracle Database teams for database provisioning, maintenance, and performance support.
- Collaborate with OCI Architects to implement and maintain cloud architecture and standards.
- Monitor OCI environments for availability, performance, capacity, and cost.
- Perform incident management, root cause analysis, and issue resolution.
- Execute approved changes, including configuration updates, scaling, and maintenance activities.
- Support application hosting on OCI, including Oracle EBS and other enterprise applications.
- Assist with OS, middleware, database, and OCI patching activities.
- Support CI/CD pipelines and automation processes.
- Assist in High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) operations and testing.
- Maintain backups, recovery procedures, and operational readiness.
- Implement and follow security best practices, access controls, and compliance requirements.
- Maintain operational documentation, SOPs, runbooks, and support procedures.
- Provide guidance and support to junior engineers and operations teams.
- Participate in on-call support and planned maintenance windows.
Key Skills & Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) operations.
- Experience supporting Dev, UAT, and Production environments.
- Strong understanding of OCI compute, storage, networking, and security services.
- Experience working with application development teams and DBAs.
- Familiarity with Oracle Databases and database operations.
- Experience supporting enterprise applications on OCI (Oracle EBS preferred).
- Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps processes.
- Experience with scripting and automation (Bash, Python).
- experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform.
- Understanding of High Availability and Disaster Recovery concepts.
- Strong incident management and troubleshooting skills.
- Good communication and coordination skills across technical teams.
- OCI certifications (Associate or Professional) preferred
